Year-to-Year Lease Agreement
A Year-to-Year Lease Agreement is a type of lease that extends automatically from one year to the next, unless either party provides notice to terminate the lease. This agreement is typically used in residential and commercial real estate to establish the terms under which a tenant can occupy a property.
The Year-to-Year Lease Agreement typically includes key components such as the duration of the lease (one year), rent amount, security deposit, responsibilities for maintenance, and provisions regarding termination or renewal.
For example, if a tenant signs a Year-to-Year Lease Agreement starting on January 1, 2023, the lease will automatically renew on January 1, 2024, unless the tenant or landlord provides written notice to terminate the lease at least 30 days prior to the end of the lease term. This type of lease offers stability for both landlords and tenants, as it ensures a longer commitment than month-to-month arrangements while still allowing for periodic reassessment of terms and conditions.
